MA in Counseling Ministry

The curriculum for the Master of Arts in Counseling Ministry program at CBU puts a unique emphasis on theological knowledge of people, which gives students a strong biblical view of human problems and how to solve them. Students will learn how to create a healing environment for people who are having problems by putting biblical principles for relationships into practice.


Students in CBU's program are equipped to work in congregational ministry, pastoral ministry, chaplaincy, family ministry, and lay ministry. The curriculum offers both an on-campus and synchronous online format, enabling students to learn from any location and integrate practical ministry experience within their community.

A THEOLOGY OF HELPING PEOPLE

This course examines the biblical categories related to human nature, personality, development, well-being, and problems in living, with particular emphasis given to systematic theology and practical theology.

RELATIONAL COUNSELING TECHNIQUES

An examination of the relational skills and settings that establish and maintain an effective counseling relationship in a congregational setting.
