Principles of Integrative and Functional Nutrition
This course explores how foods and bioactives affect gene expression. The course covers understanding how nutrients interact with the genome and how nutraceuticals and dietary supplements work in cells.
Advanced dietetics communication skills, nutrition education theory, strategies, and media, counseling theories and negotiation, interviewing, and individual and group counseling skills will be taught.
This course builds on fundamental nutrition science and emphasizes integrative and functional nutrition. To determine nutritional care best practices, the course examines conventional, traditional, integrative, and functional medicine models.
